Auditions:                                                                               

The north american choral company has openings for new singers who are interested in a life changing choral experience.  The nacc has four divisions for young people in grades 1 - 12...and we're not your ordinary choir!

• If you’re looking for an experience for your child that fits into today’s creative global community we’re the place!
• At the north american choral company what we do is different...we teach young people to sing, move, and have fun with choral music from around the world!
• We perform concerts in West Michigan, and our older choirs travel to other cities and countries on concert tours!
• We emphasize diversity and global awareness in our music, and our teaching incorporates vocal skills with movement and drama to encourage each child's creativity and to build their self-confidence.
• Give your child a unique opportunity to learn about other cultures, make friends from diverse backgrounds and share the love of music.
• No experience is necessary...we welcome kids in grades 1-12 to expand their horizons and to have fun making music.

WholeNotes - First Annual Fundraiser:                                              

Whole Notes: eat local…sing global

Local farmers, chefs, food artisans, and a wine purveyor will join young musicians on Saturday, August 23, 2008 to present a gastronomic and musical celebration of local foods and global song to benefit the north american choral company. The event, Whole Notes, will place diners between the soil and the sky from 5 and 9 pm at Look-Out Park (Newberry at Fairview NE ) for a five-course meal of local foods paired with wines from small vintners. The north american choral company’s gifted young musicians will provide music to complement the meal.

Whole Notes is patterned after nationally acclaimed Outstanding in the Field dinners (see www.outstandinginthefield.com) which emphasize local foods and preparation. Whole Notes will feature fresh-from-the-field, local foods presented by local chefs and artisans: Daniel Chudik (Tuscan Express), Cory DeMint (The Electric Cheetah), chocolatier Patricia Christopher, cheese artisan Barbara Jenness. Amy Ruis of Art of the Table will provide wines to accompany the meal.

In keeping with Outstanding in the Field tradition, diners will set at a single, long table. Local fiber artist Ann Baddeley Keister will provide table runners. As foods are served, the farmers, chefs and food artisans will briefly describe the growing and preparation processes.
